Mango-Brownie Lassi

The most awaited fruit of the season, king of all fruits, loved by toddlers to oldies is here – an all-time favourite crowd pleaser – the lip-smacking mango! Even I am a huugee… fan of this gorgeous coloured fruit that grows in the summer.  All the ladies who love to cook and kids who defiantly seek to escape their studies wait for this season to arrive to relish the sweet juicy goodness.

I am telling you – since it is hot and scorching – we may dislike the summer season, but it has a lot for us in store to adore and relish. Families and friends opt for home-town holidays, out-of-station vacations, moms and grandmas make the most lip-smacking pickles and we get to enjoy the most amazingly delicious mangoes!

I hope you are managing to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day and staying hydrated. You can even store a bottle of home-made butter milk or lemon water in the fridge. DO NOT offer only packet flavoured drinks from outside to your kids. In my childhood, I remember making Rasna with my brother and storing it for a month. We use had nothing but Rasna all the time (as we never liked sharing it with anyone) and used to end up coughing and falling sick! I learnt my lesson, so you must be smart in making your choice, unlike my brother and me, as evidenced by the past.

Coming to the point, I have a lavish beverage for all of you to drool over and to make this summer even sweeter!

There is nothing that you can even compare it to when it’s just chilled and served. This beverage can be consumed anytime of the day or even relished as a dessert. It contains yogurt i.e. lots of calcium so you can enjoy it in good quantities. The sweetness of processed sugar can be controlled with mangoes and a piece of brownie. The goodness of this mango brownie lassi will keep you far away from hunger for a good amount of time. I am sure you have already bought mangoes at home. So, don’t wait anymore to try this gorgeous mango-brownie lassi today!

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe mangoes, finely chopped without the pit
  • 1 ½ cup hung curd/ Greek yogurt
  • 1 tray of ice cubes
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar (you can adjust as per taste)
  • 2 pieces brownie/ chocolate cake

Method:

In a blender pour in the hung curd, 2 chopped mangos, ice cubes and sugar. Blend it well. Place a brownie in each glass. Add the remaining chopped mango over it. Pour the lassi and serve chilled!
