Jello Parfaits

Christmas is around the corner! It’s time to indulge in some delicious mouth-melting treats and enjoy time with our families and dear ones. So, make merry as…merrier time has arrived for all of us! One of the best times of the year to bake and spread joy, we’re all ready to give a farewell to this year and welcome a New Year with open arms.

Jesus’s birthday is way more special. Decorating the crib, attending mass, playing Christmas carols and savouring all kinds of delicious delicacies like there is no tomorrow. Wearing the best clothes and greeting friends and family with joy and hope is what this festival is all about. That’s how our wishes to Jesus are being sent – with a whole heart and a sacred feeling – of being showered with his blessings…I am not a Catholic but have experienced it all with one of my close friend.

img_0729Today’s recipe is going to be perfect for you to entice your guests with with very little hassle. Cakes are quite common to be found at everyone’s house. And yes they are perfect for a party! Yet, what if there can be twist to it that no one can resist? Jello-parfaits are just too good to be true. A layered cake with a coating of whipped cream and a layer of jello! Trust me it tastes much better and just like the way it looks – its colourful and rich to dig in! You can also make them with left over cake.

I have used a combination cake (chocolate and vanilla). You can try this with any other flavour. Try to use strawberry flavoured jello as kids would love it. You can add any jam or preserves of relevant flavour to the whipped cream to enhance its taste so that all the layers compliment the tangy-sweet flavour. Setting in the jello layer is easy; just give it time to freeze. Do give this recipe a try!

  • 8 cup Cake
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • Jello packet
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry crush

  • In a glass add the cake, dip it in sugar water if it’s not moist.
  • Whip the cream and strawberry crush. Put it in a piping bag.
  • Fill in the second layer with cream and freeze it for 1 hour.
  • Make the jello as per the instructions on the pack.
  • Let it come to room temperature.
  • Slowly add in the jello syrup as the last layer and freeze it for 2 hours.
  • You can add fruits or sprinklers to enhance to look. Serve chilled and enjoy!
